From the Beginning to Now

In 1977 Ian Buckeridge Transport Ltd was established by the late Ian Buckeridge and his wife Judith Buckeridge.

The company was originally based in Carterton and specialised in stock, fertiliser spreading and general cartage.

By 1983 the company moved into log and timber cartage working for various sawmills in the lower North Island.

In 1991 Ian Buckeridge Transport Limited relocated to Dannevirke. At this time Ian was one of the directors of the newly formed Kiwi Lumber Company Limited for which he remained director until his passing in 2005.

In 1993 Ian Buckeridge Transport Limited also progressed into the cartage of fertiliser for Ravensdown and wood residues for sawmills.

Simon Buckeridge purchased the company in 2005 and became Managing Director. At this point the Company was renamed to Buckeridge Transport Limited. Simon & his wife Danielle have grown the business to its current fleet of twelve units. This growth has in turn increased its customer base and helped meet the required demands.

In 2019 Simon & Danielle approached Ballance Agri Nutrients with the idea of building a consignment store. The relationship was established and this saw the construction & opening of the Dannevirke Ballance Consignment Store located at their depot in Miller Street. The purpose built facility enabled Ballance to get the product out the door and onto the farms as efficiently as possible all year round as well as providing a valuable connection point for its local customers.
